So, I am a little behind on the #FitbyFirst challenge but I will not let it stop me.
The Baseline test gives a measurement of progress, so by Fourth of July I will know how much I will have kicked ass.
The test was “simply” 15 minutes of
- 10 air squats
- 10 burpees
- 10 sit ups
- 10 mountain climbers
I was able to complete three rounds with modifications on the burpees and sit ups.
I’ve been gymin’ it up for months but those burpees get me every time! At one point I was in the process of doing the push up and I lost control of my arms and face planted on the yoga mat. I decided to stay down there for awhile and just soak in the embarrassment. Then that glorious feeling was compounded when a fellow gym member came up to me and asked me if I was okay. I, then of course, had to continue on another round — burpees ain’t guna get this girl down — or well, permanently down.
So, all in all, I am pleased. I didn’t know how I was going to do and I didn’t have a goal other than don’t throw up. Win.
